IEC helps you to expand your business. It takes your product or service to the international level. On the basis of IEC you can obtain various benefits from DGFT/Customs/Export Promotion Council etc. IEC can be obtained within 1-2 working days after submission of your application. Import Export Codes (IECs) require annual renewal between April and June. The deadline for renewal is June 30th each year.

When is the IEC required?

  • The bank needs it to transfer the money when imports are made.
  • Similarly during export shipments, the IEC is required.
  • When exporter is supposed to receive money in foreign currency, IEC code is required to transfer the money to his account directly
